We meet again Joey Garlic’s. I cannot get enough of you, you are like a drug that I crave everyday. Well anyways, enough with the bullshit, let us get into this one. So broccoli alfredo from here comes with linguine, but you get like ten pounds of pasta and a shit ton of broccoli. It is okay though, every bit of it is well seasoned and you really can eat the whole plate if you were determined to. Only thing is, slap a bunch of crushed red pepper on this stuff because it makes it ten times better. Typically, I do not get it that much; I only really ever had it when the person I went with ordered it. Yeah it was good, but I feel like I am cheating on myself if I do not order tortellini when I go here.
Okay, so the pasta itself is cooked perfectly; it is not rubbery, but it is not hard. It lies somewhere in the middle of there that makes the pasta cooked to perfection. The plate comes with a mound of pasta and broccoli that is flooded in this thick, creamy sauce. The sauce itself is flooded with flavor which helps tie the various flavors in this dish together as one. The broccoli is great because it is not mush, but then again it is not raw. It is cooked so one can actually enjoy it and taste the flavor of it without being grossed out by the texture of it. If you could not tell throughout this blog, I am a big texture guy and hate when shit wants to slither down my throat. It is kind of a pain in the ass twirling the linguine up onto your fork, but that is the experience you get by ordering linguine or spaghetti. My ass is lazy and when I want to eat, worrying about twirling my pasta is the last thing that is on my mind. Overall, this dish’s rating from me is an 9 out of 10 because it tastes and looks amazing, I am just a lazy ass who does not want to twirl my pasta when I am starving. There are so many good restaurants in Connecticut, I cannot wait to try more.
