So this is a continuation of my experience at Alta Strada. You guys already know how bomb of a place it is with a decently priced menu and many options to choose from. If you’re going out to a nice place like this, you have to get an appetizer. If you don’t that’s just like going to the bar and drinking water the whole time; you look like a weirdo if you don’t get at least one beer or drink. I think this calamari was $14; small portion but hey, seafood is expensive so don’t complain.
Alright, you guys got your little intro, so let’s get into the meat of this. The calamari comes out perfectly cooked; it’s not rubbery but it’s not over cooked. It comes with a side of sauce that is so sweet and well seasoned. To top it off, they give you a lemon slice so you can drizzle that shit over the calamari for some added flavor. Personally, that is what I do because it makes the calamari so much better. The portion could be bigger, but for a fancy place it is a pretty decent sized portion for seafood. It kind of works out because the entrees portions are huge so you don’t get filled up and you can house your entire meal down. If you’re lucky you’ll have some room for dessert, but even I didn’t have room for this. Finally, I’d recommend the calamari from here, the only downside is that they don’t serve the tentacles because those are my favorite.
