Fried eggplant alone is amazing. Now when you julienne them and fry them to crispy perfection and call them eggplant fries, you have something serious. Joey Garlic’s you guys have done it again. This is a must get appetizer if you go here. Spend the $13 and get a large order of eggplant fries; it is literally a mountain of eggplant loaded with parmesan. Also, I would ask for the extra crispy because they are so much better when they are crunchy. If you are going with a party of two, stick with the small because the large order is really for a family of four or five. Unless you go with someone like myself, then get the large because they can probably finish the whole plate by themselves.
Alright so eggplant fries and what are they. This appetizer is amazing because it is a copious amount of eggplant that is cut in the shape of fries and fried. They then stack them up on a plate with mounds of parmesan cheese and serve it with a side of their sauce. The eggplant alone is crispy, but not overcooked so it does not taste burnt or anything like that. Their sauce is always so distinct to me as it is very sweet. It is not like a gross sweet, it tastes really good it just seems sweeter than the average tomato sauce. The best thing about these fries is that they are not as filling as traditional fries and you can make yourself feel better by saying you were eating eggplant instead of the starchy potato fries. I have no idea how they perfected cooking these things because I have tried to make them and they just come out soggy and gross. Hats off to you Joey Garlic’s, I cannot wait to see you guys once this quarantine is over.
